It's a rock band in the making: Gwen Stefani and her rocker husband Gavin Rossdale welcomed their second child, a son, on Thursday in Los Angeles, PEOPLE has learned. Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale was born at 12:46 p.m. and weighed 8 1/2 lbs. He joins the couple's other son Kingston, who turned 2 in May. "Kingston, Gwen and Gavin Rossdale welcomed the newest member of their family," they say in a statement. "Mother, baby and family are all happy and healthy. Stefani, 38, who is one of four children herself, has spoken openly about her hope for more children. "I'm in a race to have another," she told InStyle last year before announcing her pregnancy. The No Doubt singer, also the designer behind the L.A.M.B and Harajuku Lovers fashion lines, told the magazine that Rossdale is "super into being a dad." Rossdale, 42, told PEOPLE that the couple planned to follow friends' advice and get a gift for Kingston so he didn't feel left out when his new sibling arrived. "Apparently when the baby comes home, you've got to bring a really good present for Kingston," he said. As for parenthood, Rossdale told PEOPLE, "It's terrifying and exciting and brilliant."

After she drops the baby weight and gets her bangin' bod back, Gwen Stefani already has a job offer on the line. At the Apple Lounge grand opening, Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin said she wants Gwen to perform with the Dolls in her new club, which is right next door. "I hope so, I really do," she told E! News. "I love Gwen. She's the ultimate Pussycat Doll." Gwen first performed with the Dolls back in 2000 at the Viper Room. Antin has been friends with the pop star for a long time and is anxiously awaiting the birth of Stefani's next child. "I know that it's soon," she said. "I'm so happy for her. She's a great mom and her children are beautiful."

"I don't really like it when people go solo," he says. "I'm a natural band person. (Guitarist) Thurston Moore out of Sonic Youth is weird. And yet I was forced to do it. If you want to keep making music and you feel an affinity for singing, writing and playing, you have to do what you do." The album, produced by Bob Rock, includes songs such as Forever May You Run as well as Can't Stop the World, the latter featuring Stefani. "She helped me write that song," Rossdale says. "I hear what she does but I like keeping stuff away (from her) and just throwing it on in the car and saying, 'What?' So this one came up and she wanted to sing on it. And any husband knows you don't step in the way of your wife. I wasn't going to do that."

Singer turned designer Gwen Stefani has been selected as one of 19 designers to interpret the Wizard of Oz’s Dorothy’s iconic red shoes. With a lot of help from Swarovski, Gwen, under her L.A.M.B label will create her own version of the ruby slippers to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz next year. The event also solidifies Gwen’s status as a bonafide designer, taking part in the project alongside the likes of Alberta Ferretti, Christian Louboutin, Diane von Furstenberg, Giuseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Moschino, Oscar de la Renta, Roger Vivier and more. The designs, will be officially unveiled in Saks Fifth Avenue’s windows and designer shoe salon during an event on 4 September. The shoes will then be displayed at the tents at Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week before making a tour of the US and eventually being auctioned off for charity.

Gavin Rossdale says his wife Gwen Stefani finds pregnancy "tough". Gwen, who already has a two-year-old son Kingston with the rocker, has been feeling very tired as she copes with the demands of expecting her second child. He said: "It was difficult at first. Gwen really wasn't well and it was tough for her. She was just really tired and was suffering, which is kind of sad in a way. I mean, isn't it enough that nature distorts your body and stretches and squashes your organs?" However, Gavin insists Gwen is now coping much better since she has reached her third trimester. Gavin added to New! magazine: "She is really blossoming now and she's in a great space. I'm just trying to be right there for her and trying to help her through it. It's not easy to be pregnant." He also said his wife - a fashion icon and clothes designer as well as a pop star - is set on regaining her pre-pregnancy figure once the baby is born, saying: "She does feel pressure. I mean, she's just so dedicated and she's just amazing with that stuff. It's very hard because everyone's so judged the whole time." Gavin also has another child, 18-year-old model Daisy Lowe, with fashion designer Pearl Lowe - news which only came to light after a paternity test in 2004.

Gwen Stefani paid a visit to her parents house in Orange County on Saturday, June 7. She was there to drop her young son Kingston off for babysitting time with the grandparents, while also stopping in for a change of clothes. After swapping outfits and chatting with her folks, Gwen made her way outside with Kingston being taken for a stroll by his grandfather, Dennis Stefani.
